The Normande Blanche FA300 is a clear, supple base that gives full expression to slips, glazes and decorative gestures. Its very low firing shrinkage and smooth surface make it a versatile clay, equally at home in hand-building and in throwing pieces meant to be decorated. Type: Normandy white earthenware, smooth without grog. Firing range: 980-1080 °C. Colour: Off-white when wet, white once fired. Shrinkage: 6.5 % drying, 1.0 % firing (1000 °C). The Normande Blanche FA300 is a clear, supple base that gives full expression to slips, glazes and decorative gestures. Its very low firing shrinkage and smooth surface make it a versatile clay, equally at home in hand-building and in throwing pieces meant to be decorated.

  • Type: Normandy white earthenware, smooth without grog.
  • Firing range: 980-1080 °C.
  • Colour: Off-white when wet, white once fired.
  • Shrinkage: 6.5 % drying, 1.0 % firing (1000 °C).
  • Water absorption: 10.8 % at 1000 °C.
  • Moisture on delivery: 20 %.
  • Packaging: Ready-to-use 10 kg plastic-wrapped block.
  • Uses: Throwing, hand-building, slip and glaze decoration.

Wedge the clay before shaping, then dry slowly and evenly, away from draughts. Adapt the firing curve to the volume and thickness of your pieces, and always test the clay-slip-glaze combination before production. Store the block away from frost and drying out.
