The Normande Rouge FA200 CHF is the warm Normandy earthenware from Raoult & Beck in a fine-grog version. The 0-0.5 mm grog opens up the body, limits drying stress and allows for larger volumes: sculpture, slabs and coiled pieces gain in stability without losing the original earthy colour. Type: Normandy red earthenware, fine grog 0-0.5 mm. Firing range: 980-1080 °C. Colour: Red when wet, orange to red once fired. Shrinkage: 9 % drying, 2.0 % firing (1000 °C). Wedge the clay before shaping, then dry slowly and evenly, away from draughts. Adapt the firing curve to the volume and thickness of your pieces, and always test the clay-slip-glaze combination before production. Store the block away from frost and drying out.
